Costa Concordia dangerous rescue

Costa Concordia cruise ship that ran aground in shallow waters of Tuscany, the Italian territory, endangering rescue because of the changed position. Ship hit a reef and overturned on Friday (1/13/2012) is now still under the supervision of rescuers.

According to AP news on Friday (01.20.2012), rescuers are still searching for 21 people listed missing. Parties rescuers had to delay the search because the movement was ill-fated ship by ocean currents. Until now, there were 7 people killed in this incident.

 
Italian Coast Guard Spokesman Commander Cosimo Nicastro said it was cautious because of the fuel tank leak-prone Costa Concordia. In fact, the tank still contains half a million gallons of fuel oil.
When an accident, Costa Concordia carrying more than 4,200 passengers and crew. The ship was worth 450 million U.S. dollars. Meanwhile, police had put on house arrest status of the ship's captain, Francesco Schettino. Police suspect the captain of the ship which is the cause of the accident.

Yesterday, the company owner Costa Concordia, Carnival Corp., announced a comprehensive audit of ten of his yacht. This effort to review the safety and ability to handle emergency conditions.
