You never see the largest emerald in the world? Maybe yes and maybe not. But certainly, the emerald green is reportedly the heaviest in the world is going to be auctioned. Rencanya auction held Western Star Auctions auction house in British Columbia, Canada, January 28, 2012.
Heaviest emeralds in the world weighs 11.5 kilograms, with a length reaching 12 inches and 57 000 carats worth. It is estimated that it costs only 1.15 million U.S. dollars, or Rp10, 3 billion as it still includes the rough cut.
"It's not unusual gemstones sold is higher than its value. The price just depends on who wants to have the heaviest emeralds in the world," said Mike Odenbach, owner of Western Star Auctions auction, quoted from huffingtonpost.ca.
Odenbach describe, emerald green as a spectacular stone. Stones found in Brazil and in India it is cut, in maximum security until the auction is held. "Precious stones are named 'Teodora' or means gift of God. For me is a blessing given the opportunity to promote this stone in our auction," says Odenbach.
